Tec Laboratories is a family owned pharmaceutical manufacturer that has been recognized by The Scientist magazine as a “Best Places to Work” and “Top 100 Employer” by Oregon Business Magazine. Innovative new products are the life blood of Tec and have fueled our 3 decades of growth. Tec Labs has a culture and legacy of creative problem solving but the Bioclaris method takes our brainstorming to a whole new, even transcendent level.

I initially intended to only train our leader team since they develop, plan and execute strategy and tactics. The first Bioclaris “challenge” our leader team tackled was the problem of getting out of defensive, "foxhole" mindset of the Great Recession and take the offensive and brainstorm how we can double revenues in 5 years. Our leader team generated over 40 novel ideas. Some of these ideas are deceptively simple and with virtually no expense that  we have started executing on them right away. I anticipate with the ideas generated we are on track to double our revenues in 3 years!

I can see that doubling revenues in 3 to 5 years means 25% to 33% growth which creates its own issues. So Bioclaris training was rolled out company wide to each functional team and the “challenge” question was presented to each team. An amazing number of ideas were generated from every quarter of the company to be able to handle this double digit growth smoothly.

The other positives we are experiencing with Bioclaris include:

• The method allows mature, cohesive teams to think more effectively. And helps new and less-cohesive teams brainstorm and increase team cohesiveness, empathy and understanding

• The Bioclaris method allows the introverts and extraverts on any team be able to problem solve without the fear of being judged or worrying about how to express themselves.

• Positive feedback from team members say they feel as if all their ideas can now be heard, shared and embraced by the company.

• This company wide brainstorming allows the all employees to focus their collective wisdom on a preeminent challenge

• The simplest ideas – that may have been overlooked in the past - can literally transform the entire enterprise.

• All ideas can be prioritized, resources, and champions assigned to assure execution in a timely fashion.

Bioclaris accesses the IQ of the entire team which is always higher than the individual IQ especially when there is effective communication. Bioclaris is based on solid neurophysiology and allows individuals and teams to reach the top of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs – creativity and self-actualization.

Bioclaris may just be the next wave of organizational productivity, by accessing the corporate IQ like nothing ever has before. In this tumultuous, commoditized, global economy of the new millennium it may be that Bioclaris is the advantage that companies need to thrive and perform at their highest level ever!
